Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a store using Drupal & drupal ecommerce plugin which I use to sell about 8 digital download files. It is extremely large and too bloated for what I'm doing.

I'm looking for a new simple solution to sell my 8 files (from my own domain) with:

  • automated download delivery
  • paypal support
  • php/mysql
  • basic (don't want a 5MB full fledged shopping cart!)
  • something i can host

Only one I've found so far is Digivendor..

Any advice appreciated

These should fit your requirements:

  1. http://www.zen-cart.com
  2. http://www.oscommerce.com/
  3. http://www.cubecart.com

I found them via SimpleScripts which is an excellent service.

I would stick with Drupal's eCommerce. I tried the others first, and by comparison, Drupal + eCommerce was like a godsend when I discovered it. It's just such a nice, quick solution for small sites which are mainly focused on other things, and with a little work, it's flexible enough to handle relatively unusual things like allowing users to donate or to request quotes for bespoke work. I haven't tried cubecart, but compared to zen cart, oscommerce, magento etc., I really like it.
