My current Xen installation lacks python-based configuration since I've installed everything using virt-manager. So my whole configuration for a DomU is in a config.sxp file (Scheme, if I'm not mistaken) while every available documentation on Xen doesn't mention those at all. Now to the questions:

  1. Are those is any way "official", i.e. are they supposed to be edited by user for reconfiguration? Maybe they used to be, before python scripts?

  2. Is there any documentation available on the options in those files? For example, which options define whether a domain is PVM or HVM, which are mandatory etc.

  3. How can I make Xen notice changes in those files? Apparently, Xen restores them from some kind of saved state on restart and my changes are usually lost. And I don't feel particularly good about restarting xend while my domains are still running.
