Server Fault is a question and answer site for system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Somehow it's now running as an auto-start service.

How to make it run as programme?

Any reason in particular that you don't want it to run as a service? This allows it to run without anybody logged in - the alternative gets to be a bit of a hassle. What did you want to accomplish? –  Kara Marfia Feb 9 '10 at 13:00
When run as a service,I can't stop/start MySQL/PHP/Apache individually. –  vps Feb 9 '10 at 13:58
Just put the wampserver shortcut to your starup folder after disabling it as a service. –  Gary Lising Aug 27 '12 at 20:29
@KaraMarfia Yes, there is case for that. Windows services can't access network mapped drives, so You can't access them from Apache or PHP. –  lucek Sep 11 '12 at 11:15

Do you have the little WampServer icon running in your system tray? If not, get it running from your start menu (Start > Programs > Wampserver > Start Wampserver).

Left click on the icon, choose 'Apache > Service > Remove Service'. Do the same thing for MySQL.

Having said that, if all you want is to be able to stop / start / restart them separately, you can do that from the same sub menus, too, even if they're installed to auto-start.
