I run vmware server 2 on a debian server. I have a guest operating system windows 2003 server.

This runs without problems for a few days until it stops working. I cant ping the guest OS anymore and cannot access the vmware control panel to reset or restart the guest OS. I also cannot access the debian server using ssh. The thing I have to do is to reboot the base server and restart the guest OS.

If somebody has some suggestions please post them.

What is the general configuration of the Debian Server (CPU, RAM) and what is the VM configuration (CPU, RAM) and do you have VMware Tools installed in the Guest? Is there anything else running on the debian host as it seems more likely that the host has an issue and the VM failing is just a symptom of that? – Helvick Feb 14 '10 at 13:51
Is there anything displayed on the console? Is there anything in the error logs? – Zoredache Mar 21 '10 at 5:12
