I'm setting up an LAMP VPS for a client. Although I feel comfortable administrating the server via shell, my client does not. My client wants a free or cheap web interface to let him create FTP accounts, transfer files, manage mysql databases and view basic reports on server status.

Can anyone recommend a free or cheap web application to do this?

webmin.com is the first address to look at and of course there are the more advanced panels, for specific purposes, like CPanel for hosting

We use Webmin on all of our servers, but there are better tools out there for VPS scenarios. – steve.lippert Feb 15 '10 at 22:52
