I am writing a small app that uses SQL 2005, Silverlight, User/Role Manager, Profile components, no third party, just Microsoft stuff. I am looking for a host that will be able to run my app with no problems,. is there such a thing like a ASP.NET VPS? So I am sort of in control if anything goes wrong?

I tried 'discountasp' but it wants me to pay them for databases and their control panel is useless.

If I don't find anything, should I just run a local server from one of my desktops, because that's the only way I seem to be in control of all the features and settings.

Myhosting.com has VPS available. I haven't tried their Windows VPS but it sounds promising. At the moment there is a free upgrade to Windows Server 2008 if you pick their Win 2003 VPS. I think you need their more expensive Win 2008 R2 VPS if you'd like to use .NET 4.

You can alsp checkout reyox.com. We are using thier VPS solutions and they have been great to us. Been using them for over 6 years now. If you like it, tell Asher I sent you. He is one of the engineers over there. He can hook you up!
