We have a Windows Server 2003 server acting as a file server, and have installed Windows Search 4.0 on it. The entire share structure is locked down so different people can access different folders.

We would now like all clients (XP & 7) to be able to use this shared index (if they have Search 4.0 installed) but only for the folders they have access to.

In Windows 7, it appears that when you add a folder to the Documents Library, it automatically uses that index, however in XP we are not sure how to do this?
