I have a CentOS 5.4 server with 512MB of RAM that is running only memcached. What is the maximum amount of memory I should reserve for memcached? And how much should I save for other system processes?

How much free memory have you got when you run your box without memcached? that's the clue you need. – Chopper3 Mar 5 '10 at 14:12
