Recommendations for colocation in the US

Anyone has a suggestion for a good colocation company? I just don't know much about who is the best colocation provider. I have been using EC2 and S3 and it is becoming really expensive due to the bandwidth cost. Especially, people downloding contents from S3.

I have looked at Peer1 and other few companies. I am not sure why they don't list their price on their website for their colocation service. They force you to chat with them and waste your time.

As the name suggests, co-location is often location related/specific. You need to travel to the data centre for physical access such as hardware installation of your own equipment and maintenance. Either that or you are looking for Manager Hosting, such as from RackSpace.com . While I have not used Peer1, I have considered them in the past, and they appear solid and professional. Costing for colocation can be more complex, rackspace ('U's), services (KVM, remote hands, backup), power usage, and whether it includes connectivity from them or a 3rd-party. – mctylr Mar 24 '10 at 16:07

Try looking at the WebHostingTalk forum, which has a sub-forum dedicated to co-location.

Also consider posting what city you're looking at for a colo - that can affect your decision too. – icky3000 Mar 25 '10 at 0:29
