Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

On Windows Server 2008 R2 I have several web applications on IIS7. One of these applications has https binding with SSL certificate.

However after windows updates that cause reboot this one application stops working. Browser says that server is unavailable. It starts working again when I simply open IIS manager, select that https binding, click edit and without changing anything click OK.

Why is this happening?

are you sure it is Windows Update, and not the reboot that is doing it? Try a simple reboot and see if the site works after that, it will help to diagnose the problem. – MattB Jun 9 '10 at 14:24
