HI I have administrator account on my windows server 2003 machine. when i try to change the password of this account from another admin account in active directory. i am getting this error “Windows cannot complete the password change for administrator because: The system cannot find the file specified” is received when trying to reset the user password.

Are you doing this remotely like from a workstation via computer manager? Does it work when your local to the server? – tony roth Jul 21 '10 at 16:29

does problemed account has roaming or moved profile? is administrator account local or domain ?

if account is local you can try (hack) "hiren boot cd" to reset password.
