Is there an alternative to svndumpfilter to get certain directories (incl. history) into another (new) repository?

I need this mainly on windows.

There is no other easy to implement solution.

Depending on your specific needs, it might be possible to work out something in a programming language using the SVN library and accessing the repository this way.

Why is svndumpfilter not adequate for your need ?

Because svndumpfilter falls over and dies quite easily if a file has ever moved into the tree you're dumping from another tree in the repository. It's one of the most annoying, half-functional pieces of software I've ever come across. – larsks Jan 27 '11 at 20:21

I know these other scripts, but they don't work very well using windows and require python. I tried it, but I assume this will be too time consuming to set up in the first place. – Uwe Sep 2 '10 at 8:34
Doing without linux will severely limit your choices. If you can get access to a linux machine, python and everything else should be included. – Amala Sep 3 '10 at 19:22

This article is something I wrote when I finally got tired of svndumpfilter not working and went looking for other solutions. You may still face the "limited-by-Windows" issues you've already encountered, but this at least resolved some of the limitations in svndumpfilter.
