I have a router and I need control and watch my users' transfer in my local subnet. How should I do that? What software should I use?

My router is ASMAX Br-615n.

I hope you'll answer to this. Thanks.

Your users' transfer what? –  MDMarra Sep 5 '10 at 6:28

It looks like the Asmax is a 802.11n wireless ADSL router.

Are you trying to measure user's transfers within your private subnet, or to measure each user's internet usage?

The second one :) –  server69 Sep 5 '10 at 13:15
Sorry - no ideas how to do it... but edit the question to be clearer, and someone else might be able to help. –  Mitch Miller Sep 7 '10 at 23:13

It would require some software that's not in your devices firmware. Try to google out an alternative firmware (if there's any).

Measuring each user's internet usage would be possible with OpenWRT firmware but your device is not supported by it. Sadly, I see no other option than switching to a different device (supported by OpenWRT) or setting up a router on some linux box.

If you have the available resources, you could look at implementing a pfSense server infront of your router. The product is free and provides traffic shaping, QoS, and traffic reporting amongst other features. It might work for your requirements.
