Why would you want to prevent workers from answering SO questions? Is the job there that horrific? –  Jim B Oct 4 '10 at 14:10

Are you trying to just take content without contributing? –  Bart Silverstrim Oct 4 '10 at 14:58

Read-only access to the SE-powered sites is antithetical to the purpose of the sites. –  jscott Oct 4 '10 at 14:59

If people weren't allowed to post answers, there wouldn't be any answers. If your employees are spending so much time on SO that it's hurting their job, I'd suggest your resolution should be administrative, not technical. If they're just giving back to the community with occasional answers, then is it really a problem?

+1 Content blocking is for public terminals (et al), not employees where normal Administrative techniques are appropriate. –  Chris S Oct 4 '10 at 15:06
