Update again: Issue solved, I deleted and reimported the certificate to access the site and the problem went away, I don't understand what the problem was in the first place...

Hello,

I have a strange issue. IE will not connect to a https site giving me the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" but I can telnet to the host on port 443 just fine. I have two identical virtual machines in ESXi. The one running Windows Web Server 2008 R2 cannot connect to the site, the other can and as far as I can tell, the only difference is the version of OS. Any ideas ?

Thanks!

So what do the two VMs in ESXi have to do with this? The IE error, does it say it's not connecting or anything more specific? Sounds like you have another machine with a different version of Windows, that can access the site, any more details? –  Chris S Oct 5 '10 at 13:21

I never said ESXi has anything to do with this, I just explained what I have. And yes, you are right. I have another machine running that has Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard version (the one that can't connect is Web) and that can connect perfectly fine, the only difference is that they have different IP addresses. http://mnetapi.com/error.gif, link to the error. –  Acanthus Oct 5 '10 at 14:19
