OUI (Java installer) seems to run on a Java 32 bits so is unable to retrieve high values as SHMMAX that some GNU/Linux set as an 64bit -1 to big for a 32bit integer.

Set in /etc/sysctl.conf:

kernel.shmmax = 4294967295

And then run:

/sbin/sysctl -p

Note: this is for maximum block for each share block segment and not a sum of shared memory used for a process or system.

This looks like you haven't installed one or more of the required Linux packages or haven't set you environment correctly.

See the Linux x86_64 installation documentation and pay attention to section 4, 5 and 6. Ensure that you have all the appropriate packages listed in section 4.3 installed with a version equal to or higher than that shown. Note that this list is not the same as for 10g so just because you have that installed OK doesn't mean it'll be OK for 11g.

You might also double check that your installation media is for Linux x86_64 and not x86 or Solaris.
