i tried installing memcache from another repo and it all went wrong:

How can i completely uninstall memcached and memcache and then install it to be compatible with PHP 5.2.10?

Thanks!

You should install it with pecl:

sudo pecl install memcache

This will compile the extension on your environment.

thanks, but how can i remove the prior installation and make sure that your cmd line "sudo pecl install memcache" will download from the correct repo? – andufo Nov 26 '10 at 14:09
mmm i was missing yum install zlib-devel, that is why i could not install memcache with pecl :s -- thanks! – andufo Nov 26 '10 at 14:15
