Maybe this is not a problem for serverfault but maybe someone knows this.

We are planning to go wireless but due to the costs involved we are still using cables in our conference rooms. Does anyone know of a company who sells long retractable utp-cables (5m will do fine). This would help a lot as the cable mess is a complete disaster. It would be nice if this company sells in europe. I am located in Belgium.

I have one of these ( but it's only 5 foot, not 5m sorry. – Chopper3 Dec 7 '10 at 13:56
Thanks but not really what I'm looking after. Maybe some kind of management system would be great as well... We have a small switch in each conference room but then about 5 to 7 utp's makes a big mess. – Dries De Wachter Dec 7 '10 at 18:37

Best options:

I found similar cables, but longest is 8 feet = 2.4384 m, which is still a bit too short for all rooms... – Dries De Wachter Jul 13 '11 at 6:59

I guess the best is to use a meeting room unit which include power sockets and ethernet switch. You can look at the Legrand product :

nice product but in my opinion a bit too pricy for "what it is": 7ports 10/100 mbit switch + 1 powerblock – Dries De Wachter Jul 13 '11 at 6:59
