Does anyone know how I might monitor the raid status of Windows 2008 servers without installing the full out dell management software?

These are R710s with the Perc H700 raid controller.

@Chopper3 told me the card is a LSI 9260 in chat, so I am thinking about a more modular OSMA install or the Megaraid storage manager at the moment ... not sure will this will lead me however. – Kyle Brandt♦ Dec 13 '10 at 16:48
I don't think you're going to have luck with the MegaRAID Storage Manager based on what I'm seeing other people say. I haven't had a lot of gripes about running the OpenManage tools on servers. They've never been the source of problems or excessive resource consumption for me and they're pretty useful. – Evan Anderson Dec 13 '10 at 17:57
I'd stick with the OMSA software; it's small compared to the full Dell management software, and it will allow you to set up automated notifications, like this: absoblogginlutely.net/2008/11/… – Jeff Miles Dec 13 '10 at 19:00
