cause need a confirmation is there any separate account for m/monit-2.3.1 – gnu Dec 16 '10 at 14:13
You've asked 6 questions in the last couple of days about monit, most of which are basic (not to mention hard to understand). Why don't you try reading the monit documents instead of pestering us? – Paul Tomblin Dec 16 '10 at 14:25
Not to mention the fact that you also seem to be using another account to ask the same questions about monit. – Paul Tomblin Dec 16 '10 at 14:26
Thank you so much for your great support and help! – gnu Dec 16 '10 at 14:31

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

@gnu - you're wrong about M/Monit not having documentation. From their front page, there is a link on the left prominently labeled "Documentation." The graphic on the link is a pile of books. The PDF, labeled "User Manual, updated for M/Monit 2.3.2", says the following, under the heading "Installation" :

You can run mmonit as any user, including root. It is not necessary to create a standalone account to run mmonit.

We encourage questions, but you will get better answers if you do your own reading first, and if you pose your questions better.

  • Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
  • Be precise and informative about your problem
