Im installing a displaydriver from intel on a number of laptops from dell, they all are of the same model and version with the same graphics card in them.

The problem that I'm having is that on some of the computers the driver appears to not be signed. If i still continue with the installation I can only use a 4bit color depth so somethings definitely goes wrong during the install.

Do anybody have any clue as to what I should do. The driver that I'm a tempting to install contains a bluescreen fix and really needs to be installed on all the computers.

Which version of Windows? Are these computers in a domain? How is the driver signing policy configured on the computers -- do both the successful and failing computers share the same configuration? –  jscott Jan 21 '11 at 11:20
I don't think the driver being signed or un signed has any affect on the capability of the driver (color depth) so it sounds like it's the wrong driver to me. –  joeqwerty Jan 21 '11 at 11:48
To parrot @joeqwerty's comment, please verify both the VID and PID match on these devices. We have purchased large numbers of Dell notebooks of the same model with varying hardware configurations. –  jscott Jan 21 '11 at 12:41
