I need to choose whether our company will use Webex or Live Meeting. They look pretty similar to me; has anybody out there done a thorough comparison?

My main concern is compatibility: whichever one runs happily on the widest variety of machines is the one I want. (We want to use it to conduct training sessions for customers remotely.)

Which features are you looking for? I found video conferencing to be disappointing with WebEx, but the screen sharing is good. – Nic Jan 26 '11 at 8:04

I suggest you to check http://www.rhubcom.com/v4/web_conferencing/web_conference_comparison.html for a comparative study. Hope this will be useful. Also, RHUB’s TurboSupport allows remote support session to be switched into training mode to support full in-session training for the client.

We've tried a few different ones in our company, with WebEx always coming out on top when it comes to functionality and reliability. Unfortunately I think WebEx is the most expensive alternative. One advantage with WebEx is the very simple network setup, it doesn't require lots of firewall rules etc to work. Most of our clients are large banks with a strict deny all Internet access policy and only allow access via filtered proxy servers, webex still works. We had a very poor experience with GoToMeeting, half our clients couldn't get it to work. When raised with GoToMeeting they sent us a very complex firewall setup doc which obviously no banks are interested in looking at.
