I have just purchased Comcast Business Class internet (CBC) for my small business and I am acustom to being able to use my own equipment. Normally to direct HTTP traffic to a server on my local LAN all I have to do is port forward 80 incoming to the correct IP. I am completely lost with CBC and my SMC router. I have tried several configurations and it seems the only configuration I have been able to get working semi-correctly is giving the server the Static IP I wish it to have and setting everything else manually.
I have read at several locations this is an easy setup. 1-1 NAT with port forwarding should do the trick. This isn't working for me at all. It does indeed direct HTTP traffic, but it only directs the traffic to my SMC router login page. The traffic never actually gets past the router.
I tried talking with Comcast Tech support and they are either unwilling, or unknowing.
I have Ubuntu 10.04 setup and have a static IP I can use. How can I get this sucker to the outside world.
