Can you please recommend some tweaks or configurations for running at the lowest possible latency on windows server 2008 r2?

The hardware is beefy. So I am specifically looking for tips on configuring the OS. For example which roles & features should I use for extreme high performance? What can be disabled or turned off?

Thank you

Thats dependent on what you have to do. We can't tell you what to disable without knowing what needs to be enabled. You say Optimize for Low Latency so the only thing I can really say with that much info is be multihomed on Tier 1 providers. –  Jacob Jan 30 '11 at 1:43

What kind of low-latency? Disk? Memory? Network? –  sysadmin1138 Jan 30 '11 at 5:46

My server has only 1 application running on it. The entire purpose of my server is to receive information from another server and then for my application to send a response. There is no network latency and nothing being written to disk. please advise. thank you. –  user68495 Jan 30 '11 at 15:06
