I'm being told our SVN server is getting quite slow. I realize there're MANY snvserve process running on it, not far from 30.

It's probably one good reason for the server to slow down.

Is doesn't seem normal to have so many process: How to kill a linux process by STIME (dangling svnserve processes)

Why would more than one be needed? If this is needed, why woudn't they exit properly?

cheers

Are you running it as a self-hosting daemon or through (x)init.d? – Rup Feb 1 '11 at 11:51
run it through init.d. why? I had to reboot the server for maintenance, and today I've got only one svnserve process... – nodje Feb 3 '11 at 9:45
