What Windows freeware do you use to create ISO's? Something that also works in Vista/Windows 7 architecture would be welcomed.

it is enough related to IT for me: I was creating ISO files for backup purposes - it is much faster to copy across the network than thousands of smaller files, and can be burned to disc at any time or place (including linux boxes). Also beats ZIP archives - it is easier to access files from the burned CD than from a ZIP archive burned to CD. – alexandrul May 28 '09 at 12:15

Command line only: I am using mkisofs.exe from the installation kit of nLite or BartPE, from where I also learned the required parameters for building a bootable cd.

Infrarecorder is a nice little (under 4MB) FOSS program for burning disks, and supports writing to ISO rather than to a drive.
