Not positive this is the proper forum in which to ask so please excuse if I should be looking elsewhere...

Have a client I am email marketing for. My send IP Addresses have been whitelisted by the receiving client.

EDIT: What other precautions can I make to ensure this official business email is received enterprise-wide?

i didn't vote it it down, but some people think all email marketing as spam, there are a lot of resources on what you should do with mail headers etc, all over the web. – Dagon Feb 23 '11 at 4:06

It depends on the receiving side. You can check the pages provided by Yahoo, AOL and Hotmail to the postmasters of other email services but it usually involve following best practices and good behaviour with the receiving side along with setting up some technologies like DKIM or SPF.

You also need to look at the various feedback loops like AOL's SCOMP, Hotmail's SNDS, and make sure that you deal with any abuse reports immediately. Make sure that your mail system handles bounces and unsubscribe requests correctly.

If your unsubscribe system requires anything more than replying to the mail with "unsubscribe" as the subject, or clicking on a single link, you're doing it wrong.

However, as already pointed out by Dagon, there's absolutely no way to guarantee 100% delivery.

Thanks. Do a great job of handling bounces and unsubscribes but can do a better job with email size and the amount of emails "delivered" at once. – Christopher Ickes Feb 24 '11 at 15:52
