I setup a hyper-v environment for development purposes, so I'm not the best with this. Basically, I have a server running hyper-v (server 2k8r2 sp1). Then I have 2 clients also on 2k8r2 that never want to have the network adapter to work.

I tried both legacy adapter and normal adapter. Tried static macs, dynamic macs, static ip, dynamic ip. I'm not sure what else to try. It's an external virtual network attached to the hosts physical nic.

Any ideas?

when you say they don't work, does that mean they show up in the network device list but show as "not connected", or what? – Bret Fisher Mar 8 '11 at 5:57
Yes, they show up, but not connected. If I "Repair" it say something about an invalid ip configuration, then it works. Only thing I changed was pointed the DNS to the DNS of the domain. – dave Mar 8 '11 at 13:04
