I'm currently running at about 10mbps and I was wondering if you fine people out there had any clever ways to speed that up. Thanks!

This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers.

Can you share more about your configuration? How many VM's? Are they using the internal network or NAT or are they bound to a Physical NIC? How are you measuring speed? – Sean Earp Mar 22 '11 at 3:47

Check your virtual NIC.

The default NIC in VirtualBox is the AM79C970A, which according to its datasheet, is a 10Mbit card. Although this is a 'virtual' NIC, it's probably causing the problems. You can try to change the NIC to something else like the virtio or AM79C973 or better.
