Installation of openssh on windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Question

I have installed openssh on windows many times with cygrunsrv but this is the first time I have attempted to do so on Windows 7.

I am using privilege seperation and the sshd and cyg_server users seem to be created correctly.

Whenever I login from a client I get:

Access Denied (from Putty)

or

Permission denied, please try again. (bash ssh)

Has anyone managed to get this working with Windows 7 64 bit ?

I have the same setup as you, and it works fine for me. If this is still a problem for you, I suggest posting the output of ssh -v or -vv.

You should also try asking on the Cygwin mailing list. There are many people there who can help to solve your problem.
