Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When I'm logged onto my corporate VPN, all of my traffic seems to go through it. I have gone into the routes setting an selected "Use this connection only for resources on its network." When do I select that, I can no longer connect to resources outside of the network (the public internet). Any thoughts as to how to properly split the traffic (I can do it on Windows with no problem).

thanks, Jeff

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 when you do this? –  Bart De Vos Apr 8 '11 at 12:23

@TiZon, what is at 8.8.8.8? I can't ping any external sites (I tried yahoo.com for example) –  Jeff Storey Apr 8 '11 at 12:25

8.8.8.8 is a DNS of google. I'm asking you to ping an external IP and not a hostname because the problem might be DNS-related. –  Bart De Vos Apr 8 '11 at 12:26
