Does anyone have any experience with using an external SpamAssassin server with cPanel? I'm curious to know if you realized any performance improvement on the cPanel server by doing this.

I have used it when I wanted to do computationally intensive filters (Bayesian filtering as an example) and the cPanel server was struggling to keep up with the current workload. An external spamassassin server also can allow you to share a common spam database among more servers. That being said, I have switched from using SpamAssassin to DSpam and am much happier. | |||
