I have installed mikrotik's routerOS 5.2 on a VM with full options. after installing it I have configure the ethernet 1 like below ip address > add address=192.168.235.2/24 interface=ether1

but I've set 192.168.235.1/24 on my VM's external NIC but still I can't ping the router. this is the only setting I have set on routerOS why I'm not able to ping routerOS?do I need to config routerOS with more setting?

Have you checked the firewall rules? Can you ping 192.168.235.1 from RouterOS? – Cry Havok May 5 '11 at 16:32
do i have to set firewall rules too? is it set by default to drop all packets? – austin powers May 5 '11 at 22:01
Are you running a bridge? Try "/interface bridge settings print" to check first. – Michael Feng Jun 30 '11 at 16:50
Same issue here. Stops me from using hyper-V at the moment. Have you opened a support ticket with Mikrotik? What Hyper-V version do you use? How is the virtual network set up? – TomTom Jun 10 '12 at 12:14
