I'm looking for a good dedicated server provider in Europe / Netherlands / Germany (anything close to Africa) and would like some recommendations please?

My requirements are as follows:

  • I need to host a few servers with a company in Europe somewhere that I could setup on a Shared SAN. The servers will host XEN Virtual Private Servers
  • 1GB NIC's on the LAN are a must, but I don't need 1GB to the internet.
  • Preferably XEON servers, but Core i7/i9 would be fine as well.
  • I need shared SAN storage on all the servers for high-availability
  • But I do't want to be forced to use their VPS management suite. We already use CloudMin
  • The servers should be able to connect to each other via a private VLAN, but on separate NIC's
  • I don't want desktop hardware
  • 24/7/365 email / ticket support
  • support UNIX / Linux / Windows, in case we need some help with something.
  • allow many IPV4 IP's. Probably 16 to start with.

Any suggestions / recommendations?

Questions on Server Fault are expected to generally relate to servers, networking, or desktop infrastructure, within the scope defined in the faq.

Check out OVH, I have nothing but good recommendations for them (We have many servers there). The rates are good and they offer all the features you need. They also build all their own hardware (so it's not only cheaper, but they have a deep understanding of everything and how it works together).

I would recommend UK Solutions. I have used them on a private basis and for work, and they are excellent. They know their stuff, very helpful, and they will provide you with any custom solution you want, exactly to your specification. They are not the cheapest on the market, but they are very, very good. Located south of Birmingham, but with excellent peering into LINX and other major hubs.
