I have recently bought a new domain name, and pointed it to the IP of my server (running Linux, Apache).

I have put a simple index.php script in the appropriate folder on the server but whenever I try and access this site via Firefox I get a message saying "You have chosen to open ... which is a PHTML file" and then the usual save/open options of the download box.

I can tell I am close to having this working as if I chose to download this file and open it in a text editor it is the index.PHP script that I have written.

Any help would be much appreciated! I have tried a few things such as clearing the Firefox cache.

Does it work when directly accessing your server by IP? – icktoofay May 28 '11 at 23:41

Why does the very mention of a server and its specs cause someone to think this belongs on SF? – BoltClock May 28 '11 at 23:44
I have another domain on the server, so when I type the IP address of the server in I get the other page opening. Thinking about it - this could well be the problem? I am not sure how I'd fix this. When I log in to the Plesk control panel both of the domains have the same IP. – anthr May 28 '11 at 23:45

Looks like this virtual host is not configured to run PHP – Dr.Molle May 29 '11 at 0:23
