I installed Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS on an Infortrend storage array connected over SCSI to an IBM Server. The installation goes well and the SCSI controller recognizes the Disk.

When I boot the machine after the installation im ending up in initramfs saying the uuid is not present anymore.

During installation sometimes I get this error: lvscan: /dev/sda: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 0: Input/output error. But everything seems to install fine.

Please post the initramfs error exactly as it is shown. Also, please describe the connectivity to the SCSI array: are there multiple paths? – Tom Shaw Jun 1 '11 at 0:07
