First of all, I'm a total beginner to this, so let me know if I need to clarify something.
I think I got the right directory structure in IIS 6.0, but when I try to open the website I get this error:
Parser Error Message: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\GoSlow\WebApplication1\WebApplication1\web.config' is denied.
I've tried to give read/write/execute permission to everything involved, but still no luck. What can I try?
When I write default web site and go to directory security then edit, it tells me that Anonymous access is granted to this website by a user account called gmt25p.
Right click default web site, permissions:
I went to users and made sure "read & execute, list folder contents, and read" was allowed. I added ASPNET, which registered as the ASP.NET Machine Account, and read, write, list folder contents, read & execute, and modify are allowed. I added gmt25p and allowed read, write, list folder contents, read and execute, and modify. I also don't remember where I saw the Interent Guest Account but I tried adding it, too, and gave it full modify/read+execute/list folder contnets/read/write persmissions (when it didn't work, I put it back to the default.)
The file web.config is also not read-only or anything and can be opened fine from explorer.
