I'm curious how to evaluate the current speed of a Amazon EC2 t1.micro instance, as there's burst time slots, the current CPU speed is not static determined, as shown in /etc/cpuinfo.

Is there some small utilities to test the CPU speed on the fly? It should be fast, so I can get the result just as I pressed down the Enter key.

I'm not sure that I see a point in doing this... – Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams Jun 16 '11 at 4:52
@Ignacio: I want to drop specific service requests when CPU goes slow. – Xie Jilei Jun 16 '11 at 10:17
