In SQL Server Management Studio 2008, when I have a query window open and I hover any items in the Object Explorer panel under Programmability that have a tooltip (happens when the panel's width is smaller than the length of any item within it), the mouse jerks and the ssms.exe process spikes (80+). This is not the case for any of the tables nor when I have table data open for editing.
Additionally, when I have the panel on auto-hide, it pops out and retracts very slowly.
