I'm trying to install Ubuntu Server 11.04 on an IBM HDD (namely Ultra320 SCSI 15KRPM). The problem is the installer won't detect any drives until I load the correct drivers. However, I'm not able to find any suitable choices on the IBM website.

Can you please provide some assistance?

Do you have a RAID controller installed in the machine? If so which one? – agy Jun 29 '11 at 23:19

What SCSI controller card are you using? Is it compatible with Ubuntu? Do you have a terminator on SCSI? Does Ubuntu see your SCSI controller? – IT_Fixr Jun 29 '11 at 23:22
@AGY - Yes, I have a RAID Adaptec Controller for my disks. I initialized the disk and added it to an array with no luck. – rsavu Jun 30 '11 at 6:48
@IT_Fixr - How can I find out that sort of information? The server is a Primergy RX300 S1. I can open it up and look inside it if you can help me. Thx. – rsavu Jun 30 '11 at 6:49
I think the SCSI Controller is AIC7902 Ultra 320 capable (on the machine - just looked it up in datasheets). – rsavu Jun 30 '11 at 7:25
