We have used tfscongif /import to migrate TFS2008 to our existing TFS2010 Production Setup.

The guidelines used is - http://blog.hinshelwood.com/upgrading-team-foundation-server-2008-to-2010/

Everything works fine, but we are worried about the Database size of the collection created by the migration. The original six database files size attached to data tier of TFS2010 is approx 60 GB and that contain 110 projects in TFS2008. Now after import size became 54GB (with the name Tfs_CollectionName). Out of 110 projects we deleted 108 projects, and performed a Database Shrink, the size is still 41 GB.

We have to do this migration couple of times more, because we want to split prjects as per the customer. And, if every migration would leave file of this size it would be diificult for us arrange disk space.

Please suggest a remedy for this.

Thanks Kabir
