I have an XP client whose "Allow logon through terminal services" is grayed out because it's policy has been assigned at domain level. I created a local user (specific to that pc...not a domain level user) and would like to give him access to that pc. Is there a way to overide the domain policy or add a second policy.

I added the user I created to the local "Remote Desktop Users" group, however, that group is not listed in "Allow logon through terminal services".

The error I am getting when trying to login as the local user is

The local policy of this system does not allow you to logon interactively

This is being done to allow access to an application.

You'll probably need to ask your network admin to change the GPO applied to the workstation or change the group assignments for you - if the policies are well-configured, it's likely a workaround will be difficult. – Mike Insch Jul 13 '11 at 17:47
I suspected that...yes, the policies are WELL-CONFIGURED...looks like I'll have to create domain level accounts and just set them to login to this PC only. – Saif Khan Jul 13 '11 at 17:51
