I'm looking for a hardware router that supports:

  • WAN Load Balance (2 or more WAN port)
  • Bandwidth Controlling over MAC and IP(Or only IP but it must support for ip-mac binding though)
  • Bandwidth Monitoring over MAC and IP
  • Web site access logging(only logging the web addresses that the users reach)

I optained this features by many software solutions. But it is hard to manage and works very slow. I'm using bandwidth controller application to controlling bandwidth over MAC, ZeroShell for load balancing and a firewall application to log the user activity.

We don't really do shopping questions here, is that what this is, are you looking for recommendations for what to buy? – Chopper3 Jul 23 '11 at 12:13
You'll have a real hard time finding a router implemented entirely in hardware. It's all software sooner or later. – womble Jul 23 '11 at 12:19
@womble I assume he means "hardware router" as in Cisco ASA, Fortigate, etc., as opposed to a regular 1U server running Mikrotik or some Linux distro. – Graeme Donaldson Jul 23 '11 at 13:59
That would be an "appliance router", not a "hardware router" -- especially given that the ASA series and most Fortigate products are essentially little more than a 1U server running something equivalent to Microtik... – womble Jul 23 '11 at 14:05
