I am working in a Windows Server 2008 domain environment (also a 2008 functional level), and I recently added a Windows Server 2003 to the domain to use as a server to store my roaming profiles.

So I created a share on the 2003 and edited the user profiles manually on the 2008 (not through GPO). I have access to the server, and I have the right permissions: read and write.

When I try to log in with a user with a roaming profile, however, I get this error message:

"The security Database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship."

All machines are correctly joined to the domain (only one domain).

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

What happens when you log in with a user that doesn't have a roaming profile, does that work? Which DC is being used by the machine and does the AD object exist on that server? – Jannemans Aug 3 '11 at 12:23
It happens when I try to log in to a client computer attached to the domain. Normal accounts without roaming profiles do not have this problem. AD exists on both DC's (2008), not on the 2003 server. – glenn Aug 8 '11 at 7:23
