Started thursday. An Citrix application quit showing up on the users desktop. I couldn't get it up by restarting the servers.

Running the application directly works fantastically, but not from the clients.

What I did was: U duplicated the application on the exact same server with the beautiful name of "Copy of". I then added the user for access. Joy and behold, the magic copied application showed up on the desktop.

Any good explanation on this behavior? I am not thinking about my own behavior, but the application behavior in a Citrix world.

Is this just an icon or is it some kind of application copy to the clients?

What version of Windows are you running?

If we have just an icon issue where it appears for, say, administrators or a specific user but not all users, it's usually a permission issue for the icon file in the public desktop directory OR the icon is only copied to the desktop folder of a specific user.

In Windows 7 you have to look under C:\users\public\desktop and verify that the icon is there and that it has permissions for other people to see it. In Windows XP is is under C:\documents and settings\All Users\Desktop.
