I want to use rman to sync my hot and running database onto a backup system.
The archive-logs are tranfered to another room and can be accessed any time. Image I pull the plug on both servers when rman is currently syncing. When rebooting the main server it catches fire and melts down.
Now it could be that rman was transfering the database control files, so that these files are in some inconsistent state. Will the log file always be able to revocer any inconsistency? I know every normal data page remembers the last successful log-entry executed.
Is the Oracle control file also block bases, and fully recoverable from log, just like any other data?
