I have an OSX 10.4 server running samba 3.0.10(I know this is incredibly outdated, but I can't really change things too much on the server). It is joined to my active directory domain(sub.domain.com)
Windows and Mac clients joined to the domain are able to connect without being asked for credentials. I have a linux client joined to the domain with likewise-open 6.0 b8360 that cannot connect. I get my kerberos tickets fine, and can use them to mount shares from some of our Windows servers without any issues(e.g mount.cifs //winserver.domain.com/ /mnt -o sec=krb5 works correctly). However, I cannot mount a share from the OSX samba server.
$ mount.cifs //osx.sub.domain.com/shared_dir ~/zdrive/ -o sec=krb5 --verbose
mount.cifs kernel mount options: unc=//osx.sub.domain.com\shared_dir,user=<HIDDEN>,ver=1,sec=krb5,uid=<hidden>,gid=<hidden>,ip=<hidden>
mount error(5): Input/output error
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
However, smbclient -k //osx.sub.domain.com works as expected, so I am lead to believe there is some issue with mount.cifs/the kernel. My linux client is Ubuntu 10.04.2, 64bit kernel 2.6.32-32-server, packages smbclient/smbfs are version 3.4.7. I would be incredibly happy if someone could help me resolve this.
