A client site was built with the directory / protected until he was happy for it to go live. I'm still getting used to Plesk. On our old shared server, we had to do this sort of thing manually with .htaccess and .htpasswd. Here, I navigated to the site in the Plesk control panel, found the list of protected directories, and deleted the entry for / (leaving the entry for /plesk-stat).
And now the entire site returns a 500 Internal Server Error.
Is this a completely unrelated thing which happened coincidentally, or have I somehow broken something? I tried putting the password protection back, but it didn't help. Other sites on the same server are still working fine.
