configuring asp.net to work with roles in windows authentication

Question

i would like to know what i have to do to add users to roles in asp.net windows authentication

1. i created the security groups on the AD
2. i created roles the same name as the security groups

but asp.net web tool does not show me that there are any users in the group

please help! what am i doing wrong?
