For instance, if DFS-R replicates c:\data\, how do I see how much data in c:\data\ dfsr.exe reads and writes.

Process Monitor is a little too robust, as it hooks the APIs, making the I/O completely inefficient (proven).

Performance Counters are too broad (from what I know) as they will give me the read and written bytes by a process, but I can not designate only a given directory (correct me if I'm wrong).

What is the most efficient way to monitor I/O of dfsr.exe into a specific folder?
